AsiaWorld-Expo transportation guide
1. Airport Express train
The most convenient (and fastest) way to get to the Fair is via the Airport Express train. Trains depart every 12 minutes (every 7 minutes during peak hours). Note that the Airport Express railway is connected to Hong Kong′s ultra-convenient railway system, the MTR.
From the Hong KongAirport: When you exit the Baggage Claim area you will enter the Arrival Hall. There are two well-marked information counters (in the Arrival Hall areas A and B) where you can buy tickets for the train. Then, take the escalators up one level to the Airport Express train arrival/departure platform. To get to the Fair venue AsiaWorld-Expo, it will be about a one minute train ride and cost HK$5 (less than US1).
Hong Kong′s "Octopus" stored-value card
To get around Hong Kong on public transportation, you can use a stored-value card called an "Octopus" card. It′s convenient, widely used, and you won′t have to find exact change when traveling. Octopus cards are not accepted in taxis, but are used on public buses, on Hong Kong′s MTR, and on the Airport Express train you can take to and from the China Sourcing Fair and the Hong KongAirport. Octopus cards are also accepted as currency at 7-Eleven convenience stores, McDonalds restaurants, Starbucks coffee shops, and other selected places of business. When you purchase an Octopus card, you make a refundable HK$50 (US$6.40) deposit, and pay any additional amount you want stored on the card (for example, you may want to purchase HK$200 (US$25) worth of stored value. You can purchase Octopus cards in the Arrival Hall at the Hong KongAirport or at any MTR station. You can add additional value to the card at any location that accepts them.
2. Private cars & taxi
You can take a taxi directly to the venue. Travel time varies (depending on traffic) between 30-50 minutes. For a taxi from Hong KongIsland, expect to pay around HK$300 (US$45) one way as you will have to pay an additional fee to travel through Hong Kong′s cross-harbor tunnel. From Kowloon, expect to pay around HK$250 (US$32) one way.
You can also take a taxi to the nearest Airport Express Station and then take the Airport Express train to the AsiaWorld-Expo.
The private car park (SkyCity Carpark) is situated south of AsiaWorld-Expo. It can accommodate about 1,000 private cars.
